when i had finished filming my opening title sequence i then had to go on to editing it, to make it the best it could be. the first thing i done was to cut out any wrong scenes and make sure that all the scenes that were needed were in chronological order without any mishaos.
after this i started to test different effects that i could use and decide on the better ones thta really added effect to my title openign sequence. the first effect used was the one of black and white, this was used so that when the girl left the bedroom the black and white theme continued this effect also had an echoyeffect attached to it, so thereore it gave more spooky feeling to the film. the first transition i used was a dip to black which again continued with the black and white themed and put the first and second scene together so well.
nextly i again used a dip to black etransition when the girl was entering the bathroom, this was used as it really contrasted the colours as as soon as the light was turned on it was rather bright. it also added effect to the film as looked as she was about to enter a room full of darkness.
next to be used was the effect of ghosting which tunred out to be the best and my personal favourite as it added so a ghosty but dreamlike feel it left you wondering weither the victim in waiting could really be imagining what was going on. this effect was used when she looked in the mirror nad saw her masked killer for the first time. then in came another transition " fade in" where she then looked behind her and of course there was nothing there. another well known horror effect. then when the girl left the bathroom she was continued to be followed by the masked killer, after relizing how well the effect had been used previously and how well it added horror dimension to the film i then decided that this effect of ghosting would be used repeatledly to create a theme in the film that whenver the maked killer came into the viewers view he would always appear in this ghsoting effect which aksed the question was it a killer given ghosty effects or was this girl really having a dreamlike imagination?
after a moment in the kitchen where the girl poured a drink and relized she was about to drink blood the girl went to leave the kitchen, when watching this i decided the best transtion to use would be dip to balck as again it added the continutity to the film and there wasnt to much effects and transtitions to make it fancy but enough of the same and similar ones to contiune the effect and feeling my title opening sequenece was aiming to create. it also but the girl into darkness which was just what i wanted to add more tension for what was about to happen...
when the girl opens the kitchen door her killer is standin there waiting with knife in hand the girl screams, then, the image changes to be infront of the girl as a closeup where she continues to scream, again a ghsoting effect was used to continue with the dreamlike theme that had been used for whenever the killer appeared. it then wen to a black a screen where the title "captured" i think the end was really good as it really gave of the horror feeling with the scream, as the scream echoed it was clear the title opening was reaching the end so adding the title in with such an effect, just left everyone waiting for the film to begin.
i then went on to add the music soundtrack to my production the song i chose was darkstar when i put this into my film i instantly liked it the music gave off such a terror and suspense feeling and the peak of the music went up in all the right places i knew i had found the right soundtrack. the sound of it matched the scenes and plot of film perfectly. i cut out all the sound that was picked up unwanted during the filming apart from the alarm ringing and of course that deadly scream. with the sound added by title opening seqeucne was perfected and finished!!!

filming and of "captured" production.
when filming my production i decided that the first thing i was going to do, was to film it with a hand held camera. i decided to use this technique becuase i knew that it would give a shaky effect and looks more realistic, it also adds to the suspense of someone or something is watching you. when looking back at it i think that using a handheld camera really was the best thing for my production, i think it really goes well with the effects and transtions used in the editing process and defiently gives the opening title sequence mor edge and horror film dimensions.
when i filmed the title opening sequence i used my house due to weather circumstances, i decided that it would be based on a girl waking up becuase of her phone alarm, she then would use the bathroom and see the maked killer but then thought she was imagining this as wen she looked round he was gone. i used match on action shot from where i filmed the girl leaving the bedroom walking down the hallway to where she went to open the bathroom door. i then went inside the bathroom and filmed her walking through to complete this match on action shot.
nextly i used an over the shoulder shot, although this may have not been used to the best ability due to space, when the girl looks into the mirror she sees the unmasked killer, however when she turns around which was when i used the over the shoulder shot the masked killer had simply fanished.
during the filming i used close up, for instance when the girl was washing her face, although this was filmed from behind, the reason i done this was because it seemed as someone was so close to the girl it have a real feeling of suspense. the second time i decided to use a close up was when the girl finally comes face to face with her unmaksed killer just before the title opening sequence comes to an end. i used this as it was defiently the best shot to use for this, it empahsised the horror and sheer terror on this girls face it also was a good scence to end the title opening sequence in such a dramatic way. it leaves you wanting to see more as you know the girl has finally seen her killer, and you are going to want to find out whats is going to happen next. but after the girl screams the title for the produciton which is "captured" appears and you are left wanting to watch more. the idea for my opening title seqeuence was that what we were seeing was actually a clip that would appear in the film during its duration, it was a clip taken out that the viewers see before hand, as it gives a location a genre introduces the characters, gives a feel of the plot which all opening title sequences should do, it also leaves you wanting to watch more without giving too much a way. which is an element that makes up some of the best horror films known.
during the rest of the film i stuck mostly to medium closeups, the reason behind this was that it would make the viewers feel so close to the victim in waiting and that they were so close it was a common horror moment where you would want to scream the girl " his/she's behind you" where the girl was being followed so closely, it would hopefully fixate the viewers eyes on her and the unmasked killer all the time so they couldnt miss a thing.

changes made to my production
I finished the filming of my final opening title sequence and currently am in the process of editing, however due to weather circumstances and avaliabilty i had to change the location, so instead of being filmed in the woods it was fimed inside a house and instead of the title opening sequences showing a girl being changed by a masked killer she was infact followed unknown to her by a killer. although these changes were made it didnt affect the main plot to the film so if the film was to made the same synopsis could be used just with a different location.
